Pearlridge Down to Earth Store Relocation Grand Opening
Over 40 years ago, Down to Earth opened its first store in Wailuku, Maui. The motivation behind the store was a simple desire of a group of friends to help improve the health of Hawaii’s residents by making available organic and natural products at affordable prices.
Down to Earth Kakaako to Hold Summer Celebration & Sale Sat. July 14th
Down to Earth will hold a Summer Celebration and Sale at its new Kakaako location on Saturday July 14th from 6:30 am to 10:00 pm. Sale prices will be good only at the Kakaako location. We opened our 13,000 square foot Kakaako location this past April 27th on the ground floor of Keauhou Lane Apartments at the corner of Keawe and Pohukaina Streets, one block mauka of SALT.
Down to Earth Wins 2018 “Best Health Food Store” Award… Yet Again!
We are thrilled to report that once again readers of the Star-Advertiser voted Down to Earth “2018 Best Health Food Store.” This year’s contest includes the new Vegetarian category, for which we earned “Finalist.” The announcement was made in the Star-Advertiser’s 2018 Hawaii’s Best edition, which was published on June 17th. As many of you know, this vote is the result of their annual “People’s Choice Awards,” which every year asks readers to name their “Best” choice in a variety of categories.
Down to Earth Opens Kakaako's First Grocery Store
Down to Earth Organic & Natural opened Kakaako’s first grocery store on Friday April 27th. The 13,000 square foot location is on the ground floor of Keauhou Lane at the corner of Keawe and Pohukaina Streets, one block mauka of SALT at Our Kaka‘ako cultural center. The Kakaako store is Down to Earth’s sixth location and the chain’s largest store, with business hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The Deli closes one hour before store closing.
Down to Earth to Hold Job Fair for New Kakaako Location
Down to Earth Organic & Natural will hold a job fair for its new 13,000 square foot Kakaako location on Sunday March 18th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Down to Earth Publishes its First Cookbook
HONOLULU, HI (Dec. 13, 2017) — Down to Earth Organic & Natural has published its first Cookbook and will begin selling it in its stores on Thursday Dec. 14th. The “Down to Earth Cookbook” is a soft-cover 112-page book that includes 40 vegetarian recipes, one for each year of the company’s history, and beautiful pictures of each dish. The recipes are a collaboration by vegetarian chefs of the Community Outreach Team at Down to Earth.
VegFest Oahu 2017 Slated for Saturday Sept. 2nd
Hawaii’s 2nd VegFest Oahu will be held at the Frank Fasi Civic Grounds near Honolulu Hale Saturday, September 2nd from 12:00-5:30 pm. VegFest Oahu is a free community event that celebrates plant-based, sustainable living.

Honolulu, Hawaii (June 20, 2017) -- Down to Earth has won FIRST PLACE in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser’s 2017 People’s Choice Award for Best Health Food Store, which was announced Sunday, June 18th. Down to Earth was selected as the winner of this award by readers of the Star-Advertiser, Hawaii’s only statewide daily newspaper. Down to Earth has won this award eleven years in a row.
Down to Earth to Relocate its Kailua Store Into Former Macy's Building
Honolulu, HI (Feb. 6, 2017) -- Down to Earth Organic & Natural will relocate and expand its 6,000 square foot Kailua store into a 15,000 square foot space in the former Macy’s Building that is being re-developed by Alexander & Baldwin Inc. The new Down to Earth Kailua store is planned to open in late 2018/early 2019.
