Lemon & Cayenne Pepper Cleanse

The famous “Master Cleanse” consists of drinking a sweet and spicy lemonade created by Stanley Burroughs in 1941. It is a short-term cleanse usually done over a 10-day period. There are many claims that this drink helps to clear out built-up toxins in your body which encourages weight loss and help you feel focused and energized. The lemon and the cayenne is supposed to help purge the toxins in your body. The maple syrup is said to give your body enough nutrients to sustain you over the cleanse. The cleanse is usually done over a 10 day period where you abstain from consuming anything but water and the “lemonade”. During the cleanse, you should drink 6-12 glasses of the “lemonade” daily or whenever you feel hunger while abstaining from any other foods. It’s usually helpful to ease into the cleanse by eating only raw foods and soups a few days before and afterwards.

There are a few more steps including a salt water purge and laxative teas. We recommend visiting https://themastercleanse.org/ for more information.

It is important to buy the best quality ingredients for the cleanse. You can also buy convenient ready made organic mixes in our Wellness departments. If you’d like more information, please ask any of our helpful Wellness Team Members.

Summer Tea Spritzer

Creating a truly delicious iced tea cannot be rushed! Simply adding ice to cooled tea doesn’t quite cut it as this often waters down the flavor. For a more intense flavor, we recommend using a cold brew method – which is a great way to brew your coffee too!
